Lil Miss Summery: Orly Lola +

In Britain, the weather is fabulous, although it's bank holiday soon and I'm pretty sure it's going to rain (I've noticed that it rains every bank holiday)

I was recently sent this fabulous nail polish from Orly. It's the most gorgeous colour, and is definitely my current favourite nail polish! It is not streaky, and I only needed two coats for the desired effect.

This colour definitely reminds me of summer - which is only a few weeks away :)

Here are some photos:

How much does it cost?
The price does vary. I've seen it for £10 in some places and £7 in others. You can buy the smaller bottles for about £5.

Where can I buy it from?
Amazon, Boots (mainly in store, the website has a small selection only) and  Beauty Bay (I have never purchased from this website so I can't be held accountable for its' service)

Lil Miss Honoured: Empowering Women Awards

I was honoured to be invited to the Empowering Women awards, which was hosted by Avon on Wednesday 23rd May, at Soho Hotel, London. I blogged about the Empowerment necklace a few months back, which helped pass on the awareness of Women's aid.

The aim of the Empowering Women awards is to recognise the bravery and achievements of women survivors of domestic violence and those who work tirelessly to support women and children affected by abuse.

The event started of with a champagne reception, followed by speeches. Charlie Webster shared her own experience of domestic violence - her story was very touching, and it made me aware of the psychological effects of domestic violence.

If you would like to nominate someone for the award, please visit the Avon website

The finalists will be selected by: Alesha Dixon (pop star and Ambassador for Women's aid), Will Young (child survivor and Ambassador for Women's aid), Charlie Webster (Avon UK Sales director), Angela Tucker; Women's Aid Co-Chair Beverley Pass and  Marie Claire editor, Trish Halpin.

Alesha Dixon, who is Avon’s Beauty and Empowerment Ambassador, commented: “As a child I witnessed the terrible and devastating effects of domestic violence first hand.  These awards are a brilliant opportunity to admire and celebrate the achievements and courage of those who stand up against domestic violence.  Now I am calling on others to nominate themselves or someone they know, so that they too can be recognised for their bravery.”

Here are some photos from the event:

I was also fortunate enough to have a photo taken with Alesha Dixon. She is even more beautiful in real life - plus she spoke to me as if I was her friend!

All of the guests were also given an Avon goody bag:

Lil Miss Healthy: Yoo Moo at home!

The weather in England has been fabulous over the past few days and I've definitely been craving cold beverages and desserts. Unfortunately, your typical sunny day desserts, such as ice cream and ice lollies are not very good for you - therefore I swapped it with a healthier alternative, in the name of yoomoo!

I have blogged about yoomoo before, and it is definitely my favourite frozen yoghurt (and believe me, I've tried most of them!) I was excited to find out that you can purchase yoomoo in your local supermarket! My dad and I devoured them in an instant! They were simply delicious, and only 150 calories a pot. They are also low in fat, contain NO artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and are suitable for vegetarians.

''If yoo want a healthy but tasty treat, angelmoo may be the moo for yoo. It boasts creamy natural yogurt with swirls of tangy blueberry sauce and freeze-dried mixed berries, topped with vanilla-flavoured pumpkin seeds to give it a bit of extra bite.''

I love this tub - I preferred it to the Strawbswirlmoo, mainly because blueberries are one of my favourite fruits! It also has pumpkin seeds which are a great source of magnesium and manganese!

''Get fruity at home with strawbswirlmoo. It’s a natural frozen yogurt with swirls of strawberry sauce, topped with freeze-dried strawberry pieces – great for those that are mooing mad about berries!''

I also loved this - although the freeze dried strawberry pieces were not sweet enough for my liking! Strawberries are a great source of vitamin C-  important for your skin, and your overall health! One pot of yoghurt filled me up for a good few hours! I highly recommend these, especially if you're a massive fan of frozen yoghurt!

How much does it cost?
The yoomoo tub approximately costs £1.79 for 150ml tub, and £3.49 for 750ml. The 150ml tub is a perfect treat  for yourself! It's good for you and doesn't make you feel guilty!

Where can you buy it from?
Tescos (currently doing an offer until 11/06/12), Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrison's and Waitrose.

For more information, visit  the official yoomoo website :)

Have you tried yoomoo before?

Lil Miss Lippy: Carmex Lip Balms +

One of my most used products is lip balm. I use them before applying lipstick, sometimes during the day, and always in the evening. One of my favourite lip balm brands is Carmex! Carmex have definitely expanded in the last few years! I remember when Carmex used to only have a pot, and now they have the tube as well as the lip tint! There's also a range of flavours, my favourite being strawberry :) The pot is very germ friendly, which is why I prefer the tube and the lip tint so much more.

My favourite type is the Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm Sheer Tint. It's very moisturising, and applies a hint of colour onto your lips! This means I can use it during the day, and not worry about applying lipstick afterwards. I love anything that saves me time :)

The pot and tube cost around £2.49, whilst the Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm Sheer Tint costs around £4.49. This price is quite steep for the lip tint, but it also doubles up as lipstick so it's quite cost effective!

You can buy them from Boots, Superdrugs and supermarkets

What do you think of Carmex products?

Lil Miss Outgoing: Harry Potter Studio Tour +

Hi guys! I'm finally back! I've only got one more exam left, and that's in 2 weeks, so I'm taking a little break from revision!

I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour on Monday, which is in Watford, and involves a tour of the film set!

Here are some photos:

The infamous cupboard under the stairs
Gryffindor uniform
Professor Umbridge's room - SO PRETTY!!
The Great Hall

Chocolate feast
The Yule Ball decorations
Makeup!
Dumbledore's office

Potion class
Ministry of Magic
Privet Drive
The bridge
The night bus

I love you Dobby <3
I finished the day with a cup of tea <3

Tips if you are going:
  • Tickets are quite expensive (£28) so try and look for a deal, or book it through Groupon
  • The food is disgusting.. and expensive! Bring a packed lunch!
  • I tried Butter Beer - I didn't like it! It's a fizzy drink with sweet cream on top. They only sell it in 2 locations in the world, and if you're a die hard fan, you might as well try it!
  • Get a digital guide - I regret not getting one!
  • The tour takes approximately 3 hours - although many people finish earlier
  • Try to get there 20 minutes before the tour starts
  • The queue for the green screen broomstick simulater is REALLY long (1 hour) but worth it!
All in all, it was a fun day out, and it makes you realise the amount of hard work that was put in for the movies! The attention to detail astounded me. Conversely, the tour is not worth £28! Only go if you're interested in how the film is made!!

Lil Miss Greasy: Batiste Lace +

Hi guys! Sorry about the lack of blogging! I'm currently doing my final year exams and unfortunately, I haven't had much time to blog :(

Last night, I decided to have an evening off revision! One of the best perks of being a beauty blogger is being invited to fabulous events. I was cordially invited to the Batiste launch event of their new 'Lace' dry shampoo! There were stylists to do our hair, makeup and nails and a photographer to snap away at our makeovers! I love to be pampered once in a while ;)

I finally got to meet Ruby and Arnita for the first time! I felt like I had known them forever - they're beautiful girls, inside and out ;) Make sure you check out their blogs :)
